Filters as used in modelling is a technique that has been
pioneered and promoted by Mig Jiminez. Filters differ from a wash
in that they are used to modify the base color of an entire model
whereas a wash is used to pick out specific details. A filter is a
very lightly tinted liquid that is brushed over the entire model to
subtly alter the base color of the vehicle to give it more visual
interest and in the case on camo vehicles integrate the colors into
a more cohesive whole. These premixed filters are made to Mig's
high standards and specifications.
