Markings are for 1945 measure 22 and 1943 measure 21. Completed kit measures over 10" long. John Charles England was a radio man who served prior to WWII on the USS Oklahoma. During the attack on Pearl Harbor in Dec 1941, the Oklahoma was hit by a Japanese torpedo. Ensign England managed to escape to the deck of his ship, only to realize his colleagues were trapped in the radio room . After rescuing three, he returned yet again to rescue a fourth and was never seen again. Ensign England was a few days shy of his 21st birthday and was awaiting the arrival the following week of his wife and 3 week old daughter who he had not yet seen.
