However, in its "natural" state, the all-welded aluminum hull of the AAV7A1 is vulnerable to small arms and RPG fire, as well as artillery or mine blasts. For this reason the EAAK (Enhanced AppliquÃƒÂƒÃ‚Â© Armor Kit) was designed and fitted to vehicles operated by the USMC.
