Welcome to the Sprue Brothers Models new facility progress page.  Here we will show you our new facility as interior construction progresses.  We will update this page as construction milestones are reached.  Construction is expected to take approximately 7 to 9 weeks and will formally start on Monday March 28 although preliminary prep work has already begun this week. We are hoping to transition to the new facility sometime in June.  We are very excited about the new facility.  We would like to thank our customers and their continued support to have enabled us to undertake this endeavor.

The new facility is located on approximately 1.52 acres in Liberty (suburban Kansas City), Missouri.  The building is 15,000 sf (expandable to 30,000 sf) tilt up concrete structure.

Painting has been completed. The suspending ceiling grid has been installed. Office electrical finish work including installation of our lights started today. Restroom tile installation is in full force.   More warehouse racks have been set up. Warehouse portion is approximately 80% completed.

Painting of the office began today.  Overhead door openers installed began today as well.  Internet access was brought into our network room.  We are now in the home stretch with our antipicated move less than 30 days away.

Drywall mudding is about 75% completed.  Our warehouse HVAC rooftops units are completed (our staff will love having air conditioning in the warehouse).  Six of our new racks (these racks are in addition to the ones that are all still at the existing facility that will be moved over at a later date) have been installed with more to be installed in the coming days/weeks.  Each one of these racks are 50 feet long.  The left three racks will be used for aftermarket items, and these racks alone offer 2,100 linear feet of shelving space.  The right three racks will be used for model kits.

Insulation installation has been completed.  Drywall was delivered yesterday and dry wall installation began this morning and is approximately 40% completed.  Also, we began building some of the new racks for model kits.

Insulation installation is in full swing.  About 75% completed.


April 21, 2011
We passed the City's open wall inspection.  Insulation is scheduled to begin tomorrow.  Wiring for our security and fire/smoke detection system is in progress.

Our roof top HVAC equipment arrived and was installed.  Data wiring is complete.

More temporary skylights have been "installed".  Rooftop HVAC equipment should be arriving iminently.  Data wiring and security system wiring is approximately 80% complete.  Electrical rough in is just about done.

We have four new temporary skylights now (the roof cut outs were done for the roof top HVAC units).  Electrical rough in continues. Data wiring is now in progress.

Plumbing installation is complete.  We finally have water!!!  Framing is 100% complete.  HVAC and electrical installation continues.

HVAC installation is going full speed.  Plumbing installation is almost complete.  Electrical panels were installed today.

Second floor framing is complete.  Restrooms are now framed.  Electrical rough-in continues.  Plumbing and HVAC installation has begun.

Electrical rough-in has begun.  Concrete has been poured to complete plumbing rough-in.  Second floor framing is nearing completion.

The second level floor and plumbing rough-in has been completed.

One of the two sets of stairs to the second level is finished.  The second level floor is about 40% installed.  Plumbers arrived today are starting roughing in the drains.

Installation of the floor supports for the second level has started and is about two thirds finished.  One of the two sets of stairs to the second levels is almost finished.

Framing of the lower level of the office is complete.  Electrical rough in continues.  Our two 40 ft storage containers were moved from the old facility to the new one.

Framing of the office has begun as well as electrical work in the warehouse portion of the building.

This is our current facility.  This picture only really shows about one third of it.  It is part of a "L" shaped building.



These next two pictures show the exterior of the new facility.  The exterior is pretty much completed.

These next three pictures show the interior.  Pretty much the only thing there is the four walls, the roof and the floor slab.  PAll of the interior is to be constructed.
